A SURPRISE FROM THE PAST

When you least expect it, reality is more surprising than imagination and behind each object there is a sometimes very particular story.

Earrings have always been my obsession, wearing them is an easy way to beautify my face and give me a good mood.
If I had lived in ancient Egypt, surely I would have found myself at ease; between unique jewels and a multitude of cats. And, the Egyptians loved this feline, slipped into their lives. At first he was an incredible mouse hunter, protecting grain stocks from unwelcome intruders. Over time he took part in the daily routine of domestic life, obtaining a prominent place within the family. The careful observation and respect of humans for this animal, was such as to come to deify it.
The Egyptian goddess Bastet was depicted with a female body and a feline head; sometimes his statue looked like a black cat with large hoop earrings on the lobes. I definitely never thought that the cat was among the first to “wear” these jewels! Jokes aside, I would have liked to have lived in that era; have those wonderful pendants to put on my ears and a multitude of cats to spoil and cuddle.

WHEN TO BE COOL IS A MAHARAJA

Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV, was born on 04/06/1884 and it will be the twenty-fourth Maharaja of Mysore. While the infant grows up in the palace, surrounded by tutors who educate and instruct him, the situation in India is complicated.

Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV, cultured and far-sighted man will do his utmost for the well-being of all; building, by educating and trying to make the people autonomous. Indian women will acquire the right to vote, before many others in the world. He will found research institutes, universities and hospitals. He will build several dams, one even with their possessions; being an important project for the irrigation of the kingdom The English government, he will recognize the great work of the King of Mysore; a life spent searching for the good for one's neighbor until the end in 1940. In the portraits made during its existence, always wears jewels that symbolize caste; but if as a young man he was literally covered with it, the latest images immortalize him with more elegant jewels, refined and with diamond earrings. The rarest and most precious jewel of his collection ? The respect of his people is unquestionable, which still celebrates it today.

I WANTED THE MAGIC LAMP

It is impossible to say that the charm of the East leaves me indifferent, that would be a big lie. It all started towards the end of the eighties, watching the movie "Superfantagenio" at the cinema. Gifted with great imagination, I wanted so much for me the magic lamp and that fantastic genius who grants wishes. A big bearded “big man” with a turban and earring, ready to take me on the magic carpet that flies into a world where everything becomes possible.

Now I'm fond of the idea that Bud Spencer played this imaginative character; but then, for the audience of us children it was quite credible, a strong stimulus for imagination and creativity. As adults, everyone made their own choices; I followed my heart by working with what I love, the period jewels and of course the earrings.

WHEN HE WEARS THE EARRING WITH CLASS

Listening to my clients, I have had confirmation that the charm has several facets. While trying on the sets, they talk about their interests on various topics and of course the "male" universe. Some of them lived abroad in their youth to study or accompany their husbands to work; ladies able to pleasantly surprise themselves on certain news. When cinema is involved, I often find myself in agreement with their choices; sometimes the fascination of the stereotype envelops several generations. The good but "rogue" hero, seductive and cultured always hits the mark. Harrison Ford embodies this fantasy, multifaceted and charismatic with that pinch of irony that breaks hearts. In private it is even more surprising, devoted husband, loving father and special grandfather; loves to drive planes, helicopters and cycling. At the age of 55 years he decides to have his left lobe pierced and wear the earring. Now that he is an extraordinary eighty-year-old, continues to represent the hero with the sparkle in his eyes and the habit of the jewel.
